Size measuring guide

Measure once, then buy with confidence

Two numbers — the length and the width of your foot — are all you need to choose a size in any brand we stock. Take five minutes now and you'll never guess again.

Why barefoot sizing works differently

Barefoot shoes don't follow the standard size grid you're used to on the high street. Every brand builds on its own last, with its own toe box shape and its own internal dimensions — so the UK size you normally wear is not a reliable guide across the brands we stock. It can even change between models within a single brand.

So we ask for two numbers instead: the length and the width of your foot. Write them down once, and choosing a size in any brand we stock stops being a guess.

how to measure

before you start

A sheet of paper, a pencil and a ruler. Measure at the end of the day, when your feet are at their largest.

Paper, pencil and ruler
1

Stand on the paper, heel to the wall

Put the paper on a hard floor against a wall, stand on it barefoot with your heel touching the wall, and put your full weight through the foot.

2

Trace around your foot

Hold the pencil upright against the foot and draw the outline. It's much easier — and more accurate — if someone else does the tracing for you.

3

Measure the length (L) and the width (W)

Length: from the heel line to the tip of your longest toe, at a right angle to the edge of the paper.

Width: draw a line across the widest part of the outline, parallel to the heel line and perpendicular to the centre line of the foot.

4

Repeat with the other foot

Most people have one foot slightly larger than the other. Measure both, then work from the larger length and the larger width.

5

Put your two numbers into the calculator

Enter your foot length and width in the Size & Fit Calculator — no need to add anything to your measurements, it works that out for you and shows every model in the shop that fits.

Prefer to do it by hand? The brand charts are further down this page.

Foot measurements ready for the size calculator

two rules worth remembering

Caught between two sizes? Take the larger one. A little extra length is comfortable; a shoe that's too short is unwearable.

If you have a high instep or a high arch, choose a lace-up model. Laces let you adjust the volume over the top of the foot; slip-ons can't.

Got your two numbers?

Enter them in the Size & Fit Calculator and we'll show you every model in the shop that fits — no chart reading required.
